Lucy Lawless, best know as the star of Xena: Warrior Princess (and for her recent guest starring role on the second season of Battlestar Galactica) remains troubled by a decision she made to leave tourists stranded in Louisiana as Hurricane Katrina made landfall.

The New Zealand native was shooting the TV movie Vampire Bats outside of New Orleans, La., when she was evacuated with the rest of her cast and crew.

She recently told Entertainment Tonight that she regrets not handing the keys to her rental car over to desperate tourists who wanted to leave town.

"There were some tourists who had been dropped off the day before...and they had no supplies.

"I gave them what supplies I had, but there were too many of them to take with us. My everlasting shame is that I did not give them the rental car that I had.

"I thought, 'Well, it's the production car, it's not really mine to give,' and now I don't know what became of them. I will never, never forget that I didn't help those people."

Lawless guest starred as news reporter D'anna Biers in "Final Cut," the eighth episode of Galactica's current second season. The actress is set to appear in two more episodes of season two.
