Lots of information has begun to surface on the web concerning the back half of Battlestar Galactica's second season. Below is an assemblage of information containing everything we've learned up to this point, including official announcements from SCI FI Channel, tips, speculation, rumors...and the ever-popular Internet prognostications.

Be advised: the below information contains SIGNIFICANT SPOILERS!

What's (reasonably) confirmed:

"Resurrection Ship, Parts 1 & 2" (January 6/January 13)
Logline: A military power struggle threatens to escalate into all-out war as the battlestars Galactica and Pegasus attempt to join forces and engage in an all out battle to destroy a critical Cylon target: a “Resurrection” ship.

Synopsis: The standoff between Galactica and Pegasus is averted in this two part opener to the second season's back half, as Kara arrives with recon photos of the Cylon "Resurrection" ship. The two commanders call an uneasy truce in order to attack their common enemy: the Cylons. However, Adama learns that Cain (Michelle Forbes) abandoned her civilian fleet long ago which furthers his distrust of her. When Roslin learns of this, she worries that the same will happen to her fleet once the Cylons are dealt with. Cain promotes Kara to CAG. Tyrol and Helo are rescued, apparently by Apollo. Ultimately, Adama gains the field rank of admiral, commanding both battlestars. (It's been widely reported that Cain doesn't survive this episode and is killed by a Cylon operative - a copy of Six - named Gina.)

"Epiphanies" (January 20)
Logline: As President Roslin (Mary McDonnell) lies on her deathbed, she flashes back to her life on Caprica and her complicated relationship with President Adar (Colm Feore). Meanwhile, a dangerous group of Cylon sympathizers destroy the tylium refinery and demand peace with the Cylons.

Unconfirmed Details: A member of the peace movement who is seeking to end the flight from the Cylons and who proposes peace arrives on Galactica and quickly ends up in the brig. President Roslin is now very ill due to the progression of her cancer, and Billy and Vice President Baltar are thus preparing to succeed her. One of the peace movement's suicide bombers heavily damages the tylium refiner's FTL engines. Meanwhile, on Cloud Nine, Baltar meets an "old friend," and later saves Roslin's life (or at least prolongs it) by using some procedure that involves Caprica Boomer's unborn child (unconfirmed rumors indicate it may involve the use of stem cells). Roslin then visits the brig and comes to an agreement with the representative of the peace movement. Moreover, Baltar's procedure has apparently prolonged the life of both Sharon and her unborn baby. Gina, another version of Number Six, is allegedly a member of this peace movement. Baltar covertly allies himself with this movement by providing them with a bomb.

"Black Market" (January 27)
Logline: President Roslin's (Mary McDonnell) quest to end rampant black market trading sparks violence and an investigation that reaches deep into military, civilian and government circles.

Unconfirmed Details: Lee investigates the murder of Fisk and becomes entangled with a criminal group who specialize in providing rare and difficult to obtain supplies. He has also formed a relationship with a woman of "questionable repute" who is looking after a girl who might be Lee's daughter from a previous relationship on Caprica. When the criminals grab the girl, his attempts to rescue her and take the woman to safety on Galactica are thwarted, because it turns out that she is working with the criminal syndicate. He discovers that she has set him up to gain valuable information. The episode contains flashbacks to Lee's former life on Caprica and the broken relationship which may have produced a daughter, as well as flashbacks that build the current relationship he was having with the woman in the fleet. [Richard Hatch guest stars as Tom Zarek.]

What's rumored:

"Scar"
Episode revolving around a Cylon Raider - allegedly marked by a gash of some kind. Kara and Kat must hunt "it" down once it begins to pick off pilots. Kara must also deal with her own ego as Kat begins to emerge as a superior pilot.

"Sacrifice"
Lee, Ellen Tigh, Billy and Dualla are taken hostage while on shore leave to Cloud Nine as the hostage-takers demand Sharon be turned over to them so they can take revenge upon a "Cylon." Lee is accidently shot in the shoulder by Kara during a botched rescue attempt. Dee cares for him, prompting Billy to become uncomfortable. The dead Sharon is used to try and fool the hostage-takers, who eventually realize that they've been duped. A struggle ensues and Billy is shot, his fate unknown...possibly - and we stress POSSIBLY - clearing the way for Lee and Dee to explore a relationship. [Dana Delany (China Beach) guest stars as Sesha, one of the terrorists.]

"The Captain's Hand"
With Commander Barry Trammell now in charge of the Pegasus, Lee has been promoted to Major - apparently serving as Commander Trammell's XO - and Kara is now a Captain, responsible for training the Pegasus' Viper pilots. In the episode, there is a missing Raptor and tension mounts between Trammell, Lee and Kara over Trammell's command style and attitude. Though Lee initially backs Trammell in a dispute concerning Kara, Trammel later becomes aggravated when Lee suggests the Commander contact Adama for assistance in locating the missing Raptor.

"Downloaded"
It's speculated that this episode may show what has happened to Galactica Boomer upon her "rebirth" in the Cylon fleet after being killed by Cally. [Lucy Lawless appears as D'Anna Biers.]

"Lay Down Your Burdens, Parts 1 & 2"
Two-part season finale. The Cylon Leoben (Callum Keith Rennie) arrives holding an olive branch: He proposes peace between the Cylons and the Colonial Fleet...if - and only if - the Colonials agree to relinquish worship of their "false" gods and accept Cylon missionaries that teach faith in the one "true" god. But there's a second more insidious Cylon demand: The humans must also sacrifice a quota of their population yearly so that the Cylons can continue their breeding experiments. Popular sentiment in the fleet appears to indicate support for the Cylon peace offer, prompting Roslin to call a referendum, and then later ally herself with Zarek to defeat it. It's rumored that Dean Stockwell guest stars in this episode. [Richard Hatch guest stars as Tom Zarek.]
