Canadian born actor Alonso Oyarzun recently did an interview with Galactica 2003's Ted Gorospe regarding his surprise return as Socinus, and offered some insights on the new Battlestar Galactica TV series. One of the details he shared during the interview was the death scene of Socinus that was cut from the miniseries: BG2003: Since your death scene was cut from the final cut, is it possible for you to describe the death scene? Did it take place at the same time Prosna died? AO: Yeah, I think I can. No, I was to be the first one to go. Prosna and I are repairing a leaky vent or something on the outside hull of the Galactica, and we have an accident. The plasma torch cuts a little hole in my space suit and I implode inside my suit.
