June 1st 2006 08:17pm | Posted by: Michael Stevens, HNR Senior Editor Speaking to IFMagazine, Marvel Studios producer Avi Arad confirmed who the costumed villains will be in director Sam Raimi's currently filming Spider-Man 3. "We have four villains," he said. "Maybe around Comic Con we'll reveal something and the madness will begin." Arad confirmed that three super baddies are 'Venom', 'Sandman' and the new 'Green Goblin' aka 'Hobgoblin'. Speculation as to the fourth villain focuses on either the former astronaut known as 'Man-Wolf', or 'Dr. Curt Connors' aka the 'Lizard'. The human character of 'John Jameson', aka Man-Wolf, has already been confirmed for Spider-Man 3, the son of 'J. Jonah Jameson', publisher of the Daily Bugle. Initially an astronaut, John Jameson became possessed by an inter-dimensional 'ruby', which transformed him into the slavering Man-Wolf. Dr. Curt Connors, aka the Lizard, served as a medic in the military, hoping to find a way to 'regenerate' limbs, but became contaminated by his own serum, physically transforming him into a bipedal, reptilian humanoid.
