Fans of Steven Spielberg's Jaws who know about the recently completed documentary The Shark is Still Working can get a further glimpse of what to expect thanks to the film's producers and HNR. The former have provided us with an exclusive still (below) taken during an interview for the film with actor Richard Dreyfuss. Dreyfuss played Matt Hooper in Jaws and appears in the picture with two of the producers of The Shark is Still Working, J. Michael Roddy (centre) and Jake Gove (far right).

The Shark is Still Working looks at the legacy and impact of Jaws and features appearances from many people who were involved in the making of that classic film. These include Dreyfuss, Roy Scheider, Steven Spielberg, John Williams, Peter Benchley, Richard Zanuck, David Brown, Bill Butler, Carl Gottlieb, Lorraine Gary and Joe Alves (shown below, with Bruce the shark). Scheider also narrates the film. Other filmmakers appearing in the documentary, which contains over three hours of material, include Robert Rodriguez, Bryan Singer, Eli Roth, Kevin Smith and Greg Nicotero.

Now that the The Shark is Still Working is complete, the makers are looking for a distributor. Fans of Jaws and movie making are being encouraged to show their support on the forum at the film’s official site and on its MySpace page to convince companies that there is enough interest to justify releasing the film on DVD.
The Shark is Still Working was directed by Erik Hollander (below with Carl Gottlieb), written by James Gelet and produced by Gelet, Hollander, Roddy and Gove. More information can be found in this story on HNR. We will publish a review of the film shortly.

All pictures are courtesty of Five O’Clock/Finatic Productions.
