Marvel Comics Tales Of The Zombie is being developed as a big screen feature.
Premise revolves around 'Simon William Garth', the former president of 'Garwood Industries', a successful businessman and well known public figure, notorious for treating his employees ruthlessly.
Garth's gardener 'Gyps' vowing to get revenge on his boss for being fired, kidnaps Garth and kills him with a pair of garden shears in a New Orleans Bayou.
Gyp turns the corpse over to a nearby voodoo cult and forces voodoo queen 'Layla' to turn Garth into a zombie.
Layla calls upon 'Damballah' the serpent god and resurrects Garth as a zombie, but Garth eventually kills Gyp and walks the earth, controlled by a succession of people.
Simon Garth possesses superhuman strength and can lift 1,200 pounds.
For reasons unexplained, Garth's spirit never fully left his body at death and at times, his persona is able to assume partial control over his body's actions, also possessing a supernatural healing ability, enabling him to regenerate injured tissue and mend broken bones.
