Photos: The Whole Fantastic Four in Vancouver! The Thing, Human Torch, Sue Storm & Mr. Fantastic in action!! October 21st 2004 07:20am | Posted by: Editor-in-Chief HNR photographers C Feldman & ‘De Man’ caught up with Fantastic Four filming a large scene at the Plaza of Nations in Downtown Vancouver. The location was dressed up to be the entrance to the X-Games with a large amount of signage and over 100 extras. In the scene, Michael Chiklis—in full costume as The Thing—gets into an argument with The Human Torch (Chris Evans) at the entrance to the games; with Mr. Fantastic/Reed Richards (Ioan Gruffudd) and Sue Storm (Jessica Alba) breaking up the ensuing fight. In the initial break up of the fight, Reed Richards takes an errand blow from The Thing; he doubles over, winces and holds his side in a classic comic book moment. The Thing then storms off only to be blindsided by The Human Torch hitting him with CGI flames (the Assistant Director would yell FLAME for the extras and Chiklis to react to). The Thing then gets mighty pissed and eventually crushes a Porsche into a little ball. Great fun all around! To hear Chiklis yelling and acting as The Thing is a ‘thing’ words can’t describe… Chiklis was perfectly cast and to see it live only solidifies the fact.
