Director Woody "Bananas" Allen would like to use France's first lady, former model/actress Carla Bruni-Sarkozy for a film role.

"I'm sure she would be wonderful," Allen said.

"She's got charisma and she's already acted so she's not unknown to an audience. There are a lot of ways I could use her...though I don't have a story for her at the moment..."

Bruni-Sarkozy, a top model before starting a career as a singer and marrying French President Nicolas Sarkozy last year, previously appeared in a cameo for director Robert Altman's 1994 feature Pret-a-Porter.

Allen plans to shoot a film in Paris next year.
