August 21st 2009 05:02pm | Posted by: Michael Stevens, HNR Senior Editor Warner Bros. will remake director John Boorman's 1981 fantasy-adventure Excalibur with Bryan "Superman Returns" Singer attached to produce with Julie Yorn and Polly Johnsen. Excalibur is the name of the magic sword, drawn from a stone, that was wielded by England's legendary 'King Arthur', according to the 15th century works of author Thomas Malory. Boorman's film presented a polished version of the 'Knights of the Round Table', 'Merlin' the wizard, Arthur's father 'King Uther', his evil half-sister 'Morgana', the love between 'Lancelot' and 'Guinevere' and the quest for the Holy Grail.
