'Jake Sully' is a member of the 'RDA' Avatar Program' on 'Pandora', with skills in combat training, military tactics and strategy. The former marine lost the use of his legs in combat, accepting an offer to join a team of scientists on a moon 4.5 light years from Earth.
Jake Sully, embodying his blue, nine-foot tall 'avatar' body, is able to walk for the first time in years. During sorties from Hell's Gate to 'Hometree', he gains respect for the 'Na'vi' and discovers the beauty and danger of an alien world.
'Colonel Miles Quaritch' is a military contractor who serves as RDA's head of security on Pandora. His skills include expertise in military tactics and strategy, hand-to-hand combat, myriad weapons systems, piloting of the 'Dragon' and 'Scorpion gunships'. This lifelong soldier will do everything in his power to complete his mission including securing 'unobtanium' for the RDA – at any cost.
The 'Direhorse' 'Pa'li', aka 'equidirus hoplites' or 'feared armored horse' has six legs with armor-like skin over the shoulders, back of the neck and head. Moth-like antennae act as neural interface for his riders. Over thirteen feet high, and domesticated by the Na'vi as a fast riding animal, Pa'li is usually gentle, but fierce in battle.
'Neytiri' is the daughter of the 'Omaticaya' clan leaders 'Eytukan' and 'Mo'at'. Her skills include mastery of most Na'vi weapons, including bows, spears, bolas and knives. This graceful, fierce and intelligent member of the clan is rightfully wary of humans, becoming an unlikely ambassador to the earthly colonists on Pandora.
The 'RDA Grinder Function' is an ATV-like vehicle that travels over the rough terrain of Pandora for support during military operations, featuring low armor, high speed and maneuverability. Weaponry includes long range surface-to-surface and surface-to-air missiles and a chain gun mounted up front for medium to short range encounters.
The 'AMP Suit', aka 'Iron Lady' or 'MK-6 Armored Mobility Platform' functions as an ambulatory hydraulic armored weapons platform for military and civilian operations in hostile/toxic environments.
Corporal 'Lyle Wainfleet' is a private contractor for RDA security forces on Pandora, with skills including advanced military training, proficiency with various weapons systems and the AMP suit. Wainfleet will fight for any cause that pays him, with nothing but contempt for Pandora and the Na'vi.
Private 'Sean Fike' is a private contractor for RDA security forces on Pandora with skills in combat training, marksmanship, stealth reconnaissance, hand-to-hand combat and expertise in RDA weapons systems. Fike is also a ballistics expert and lethal in Brazilian jujitsu.
