Can't you change the colour of the layout from light blue to black??
That's what I've been doing.
At the bottom of the page it says HNR Default skin, IPB default skin. HNR is dark, IPB is light.
I really like this new layout for typing posts. Much neater!

OK we upgraded to the latest and greatest version of IPB (our Forum program) early today and there are some small visual problems but I am on top of it.....so everyone keep calm and keep posting ;)

Dark blue version looks nice. On this typing window, I don't have any icons other than the smileys. They are only black and white here.
My light blue screen works fine.
thanks!

The icons on my comp still don't work. I guess I could be from my side cuz I think that's happened before, although I thought I fixed it. Oh well, I don't do anything special with my text anyway. lol
That's on dark blue. I'll try light blue
Everything's working fine for me in the IPB skin. Smilies in colour too!

incase anyone noticed over the last few days the "read last post" or "go to first unread post" links were not working properly for IE.
But that has now been fixed

So we are back up to 100% fully operational on the forums!
