Sanctuary Has Opened Its Doors
Online sci-fi series starring Amanda Tapping is up and running

Sanctuary, the online science fiction series created by former Stargate SG-1 writer and producer Damian Kindler, debuts today at the show's official website sanctuaryforall.com. The series stars Amanda Tapping, also of Stargate SG-1 (and soon moving over to Stargate Atlantis, on which Kindler worked as a writer) as Dr. Helen Magnus. The sanctuary of the title is an institution where Magnus protects strange and hideous creatures that are said to hold to key to the future of humanity.

Sanctuary was filmed in High Definition onto tapeless media. It is being produced by Stage 3 Media, a company that Kindler set up with Marc Aubanel (formerly of Electronic Arts) and Martin Palacios. It was shot almost entirely against a green screen at Bridge Studios in Vancouver, British Columbia. The pilot will be released as eight webisodes, each around 15 minutes in length.

Featuring stunning visual effects and innovative interactive elements, Sanctuary takes the viewer into a thrilling world where science meets the supernatural. The first of Sanctuary's eight 15-minute webisodes can be viewed exclusively online at sanctuaryforall.com.

Each webisode of Sanctuary follows the exploits of Dr. Helen Magnus (Amanda Tapping, Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis) as she seeks out all manner of terrifying and monstrous creatures. She is aided in her quest by her reluctant protégé Will Zimmerman (Robin Dunne, Dawson's Creek, The Big Hit, Species 3) and her intrepid, if somewhat reckless, daughter Ashley (Emilie Ullerup, Battlestar Galactica). Sanctuary's initial release consists of eight 15-minute webisodes. Webisodes are competitively priced and may be purchased individually or bundled for even better value.
